MLB home run picks today

Home run props are the highest-variance market in baseball, which is exactly why price discipline matters. PickSniper's HR Radar builds a model home run probability per batter per game, then puts it next to the devigged Vegas HR probability so you can see who is genuinely underpriced instead of who simply looks hot.

What actually predicts a home run

  • Barrel rate over rolling 14, 21 and 45-day windows — the single most stable batted-ball signal.
  • Pulled air rate — home runs come from balls pulled in the air, not from raw exit velocity alone.
  • Fly ball rate — a ground-ball hitter can barrel the ball and still never leave the yard.
  • Pitch-type and handedness splits — barrel rate against the specific mix the starter actually throws, with switch hitters graded from the side they will bat.
  • Park and weather — dimensions, elevation, temperature and wind vector.

Why Vegas gets a seat at the table

The HR market carries information no public model has: lineup certainty, bullpen plans, late scratches. The Radar blends devigged multi-book home run odds into the score rather than ignoring them, and separately tracks how today's price compares to the player's average closing HR odds over recent weeks. A batter whose price has drifted shorter than his model number is the classic steam signal.

How to read the board

Games are separated, the top hitters in each are ranked, and every batter shows model HR% next to Vegas HR%. The gap between those two numbers is the bet — not the raw model number. A 9% model HR% at a 6% implied price is a far better play than a 12% model HR% already priced at 13%.
